Back-To-Back Championship For Jotech Racing

Fontana, California: Coming into the final round Kenny Tran and his Scion tC was ahead by 78 points following his 3rd victory of the season, which means he has to go through at least 2 rounds of eliminations in order to secure his 2008 championship run.

In round one of qualifying, Kenny only ran a  9.46 @ 166mph with the car barely making into the 15 car field. Fontana, California always pull a full competitive field in the Pro Import Class.

"We had to skipped 2nd round qualifying due to mechanical gremlins on our engine, my team worked feverishly and fixed the issues to make the 3rd round just in time." The team ran down a 8.22 @ 178mph to claim the top qualifying position for the weekend.

Tran advanced through 1st round with a stout 8.24 @ 172 and wowed the crow in the second round with a 8.18 @ 173mph to claimed his back-to-back championship wins in the Pro Import Class. "All the pressure are off a little bit now," said Tran, "this team has stuck together for a few years now, having such a consistent season and winning the class points again means a lot for us all."

The final round was set for Kenny against his arch nemesis Brian Jimenez in his GM Cobalt. Both cars are running with Garrett turbo and gunning for the win and the Garrett Turbo Bounty "Quickest E.T" which is held by Mike Crawford with a 8.145. Tran offered, " we really want this bounty also to prove that we have the quickest and fastest Pro Import car in the country"

The final round win light goes to Brian Jimenez's team with a new class record of  8.09 @ 173mph against Kenny's 8.09 @ 174mph. Tran explained, "All in all, it was a terrific day, we all had a lot of fun out there even though we lost this race to Brian in the final round, he definitely deserved it but we won the more important race which is the Pro Import Championship. I would like to congratulate Brian on the season and his new E.T record which we will take back early next season."

Kenny recognized, "This season was a very tough season for us all in any industries, which includes most of us. We couldn't have done it without the help of our family, friends, crew members, and the tremendous support of our Sponsors like Scion - they have been instrumental in our success. Jotech Motorsports, Arias Pistons, V & M Cylinder Heads, Garrett Turbo, Pauter Rods, REV Valvetrain, and NGK Spark Plugs and Skinzwraps for providing us the best quality parts to help us win. Special thanks to all of our fans across the country for your continuing support to keep coming out to the events!"

"We look forward to future for 2009 and hope to see everyone back doing what you love to do"
